Picture Postcards from L.A.: Erin

As I fixed and ate my breakfast, I read everything in the paper about the robbery. I was impressed by the robbers’ daring skills, practically stealing the artifacts out from under the noses of the museum security people. As I read, several articles seemed to imply that it could have been an inside job since it was pulled off so cleanly.

The lack of hard information told me that the police didn’t have a lot to go on. Several articles stated that Detective Chris Graham would lead the investigation while temporarily reassigned to the Art Theft Detail of the LAPD, the only full-time art theft unit in the U.S. The Art Theft Detail was usually a one-man operation that pulled in additional resources when necessary. The fact that they did this so quickly told me, without them having to say it out loud, that someone wanted the case solved and solved quickly. I briefly wondered if Chris would need my help with anything, but I didn’t call her because I figured she was quite busy now, and if she did want my help, she knew how to get hold of me.
