Slum Lord Diaries Ch. 02 by GuyInTheFrontRow

“So primarily a swing shift I’d guess?”

She chuckled at something amusing to her. “Yeah, primarily. I didn’t expect quite such easy acceptance. Most of my friends don’t even know.” I turned then.

“I won’t ever judge anyone for what they do provided it isn’t hurting anyone. Most people have their motives and I’ve found that motives are usually as important or more important than their actual actions.”

She laughed a bit more. “Ok, but don’t start expecting me to pay my rent in any weird ways. I’ve heard how some Landlords can be.”

“In all fairness, I don’t own much land. And looking at this place and living here for a week I’m closer to a Slumlord than a landlord.”

We both laughed at that and then headed to our respective places to crash for the night. As I was about to fall asleep I heard a faint hum start back up accompanied by some deep breathing. I had to take matters into my own hand if I was going to get any rest.
