I Will Be There by Bh76

Her surprises continued as she saw Emily’s eyes were open and a smile on her face. Emily mouthed, “No,” when she saw Julia about to speak. Julia smiled and nodded, before pointing to the kitchen.

As Julia made breakfast, Eric began to stir. Emily’s hand already lay across his morning wood, and his hand was moving on her breast. Not quite squeezing her, it was as if he were feeling what his hand was holding, and then he woke up.

He realized his hand was on her breast, but he was surprised that her hand was on his hard cock. It wasn’t moving and she seemed to him to be sleeping so he hesitated before moving too much and waking her.

He heard Julia in the kitchen, so he figured it was safe to wake up, he’d figured he’d lay Emily down to go back to sleep if she woke.

The first thing he did was pull his hand away from her breast. He did take the time to remember how firm it felt and compared it to Julia’s slightly larger, but softer orb. When he did, Emily said, “What did you do that for?”

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.”

“I’ve been awake for a while,” she said, still in the same position.

“Um, Emily, your hand is on my…”

“I know. I figured if you were going to cop a feel, I would as well.”

“I’m sorry, but I did it in my sleep.”

“Doesn’t matter, I liked it all the same.” She patted his erection and stood up to stretch. “I’ve slept on couches before, but never quite like that. My back feels like it’s in a dozen knots.”

“Yeah, I know what you mean. The angle we were laying at was awful.”

She touched his cheek, “Yeah, but I’d do it again every day if it meant we were friends again.”

“Look, I’m not as angry as I was before, but I’m not all the way there yet to call us friends.” She frowned and lowered her head. “Look, Em. Why don’t we take it one day at a time and see what happens? I promise I’ll be better company, and I will give you a fair shot to show me you’ve changed.”

She stepped forward and hugged him. “Thank you, Eric. Thank you for everything.” She kissed his cheek and she bounced away up the stairs to get dressed for the day.

Eric walked into the kitchen where Julia gave him a smirk. “You guys looked awfully cozy this morning.”

“Yeah, yeah. We fell asleep in that position.”

“With your hand on her breast and hers on your…” she looked at his crotch and smiled.

“No, that happened during the night. While I was asleep, mind you.”

“Whatever, Stud. I’m going to warm up the leftover biscuits and gravy. How about you set the table for me?”

“Okay.”

He heard the shower start upstairs and peeked around the corner to the bathroom at the top of the stairs. The door was closed.

He walked over to Julia and put his hands on her hips. “Why don’t you and I go into town today for something. We can find a place to park and…”

She spun around and gently pushed him away.

“No, Eric. I won’t do anything with you while she’s here. I don’t want her to suspect anything.” She saw his sad eyes and touched his cheek. “Eric, no matter how badly we want each other, you must remember that there’s nothing long term with me, there can’t be. We’re nothing but a fling for each other. A wonderful fling.”

“Julia, that’s not…”

“Shush. Maybe you should set your sights on someone your own age. She’s obviously in lust with you already.”

He laughed. “Yeah, I gathered that when she had her hand on me this morning. She’s trying hard to be my friend again too.”

“Is either such a bad thing? I know she hurt you before, but I know she’s changed. Don’t you trust me?”

He smiled, “I trust you. I’m not sure I like how you’re pushing me at her though.”

“I’m not pushing anything. That being said, I would love my only child to find a good man like you. You can’t blame a mother for that.”

“Even with what happened between us?” he lamented.

“Eric, I’ll never forget what happened between us, and I’ll think of it fondly for the rest of my life. But given the choice between a short-term relationship with you or you and my daughter having a chance at a wonderful life together? Well, I’ll sacrifice myself every time.”

“What if I’m not attracted to her?”

She laughed. “Don’t force anything, Eric. If it happens, it happens. Just be open to the possibility. Jesus, I feel like I’m pimping my daughter out.”

They laughed and he went back to setting the table, more confused about what he wanted than before.

Julia walked out to the barn to let the kids know lunch was ready. She stopped short and watched them joking with each other and laughing. She smiled and continued on.

“Lunch is ready, y’all,” she called out.

Eric dropped his load into the dumpster, and Emily tossed her gloves onto the workbench.

Julia looked into the dumpster and was happy. “You guys have done a great job this morning.” She walked into the barn and was shocked to see it was almost empty of all the junk.

“We busted our butts, Mom.”

She patted her daughter on the back and said, “Come on, then. Let’s have lunch.”

The kids sat in front of their sandwiches and Julia asked, “So, how are things going?”

Eric swallowed and said, “Good. The barn’s just about done. We just have to move out the stuff the recycling folks are picking up, and then I’ll power wash the floor. We’ll have the buildings empty before dinner if all goes well.”

Emily smirked. She knew what her mother was really asking.

“Things are better, Mom. He isn’t disgusted to be in my presence and we’re catching up on our lives over the last few years.”

Eric shook his head. “Do I have to worry about you ladies ganging up on me?”

“Nope,” Julia said. “I’m staying out of it. I was just curious as you seemed to be having fun out there.”

Emily couldn’t hold her smile back, “It’s a work in progress, but we were best friends once. That kind of rapport doesn’t go away completely.”

“Good. So, anyway, the shed and garage need painting too. I figured while you young ones are working inside on the scrap and junk, I’ll work on painting the outside.”

“Sounds good. Hey, Mom, since it’s Saturday, why don’t we have some fun tonight. We can order pizza, listen to some music, dance a little?”

“Dance? Oh, man, I haven’t danced in a few years. I like the sound of that,” Julia answered.

“Sweet!” Emily squealed. “Hey, how about if we do like an 80’s theme?”

“Someone’s watching too much Stranger Things,” Eric teased. Emily answered by sticking her tongue out at him.

“I love it,” Julia smiled. “I even have some things to wear that’ll be perfect for it. I’ll dig them out later for us.”

Eric shook his head. With both women being excited about it, he knew resistance was futile.

Eric washed the garage floor later that afternoon after he and Emily made quick work out of cleaning out the junk. He began to hate Julia’s ex-husband for his laziness in not getting rid of anything over the years.

He finished and looked back at the empty floor and smiled at the job well done. Julia had expected to take all weekend getting the three outbuildings emptied out and they finished a day early. He hoped he could convince her to let them have Sunday off.

He saw a car pull up to the house and realized it was the pizza guy. He had no clue it had gotten so late. Emily had disappeared while he washed the floor, and he figured she had gone in to shower and prepare for their dance party.
