“Anna that’s amazing; and thank you. Those guys have been amazing friends. It doesn’t hurt that our wives and fiancés all like each other.”
“Really?” asked Anna.
“Oh yes,” interjected Jessica. “Jake’s fiancé Grace, and Sara are crew mates at Colton.”
Anna nodded. “Oh. That sounds really great,” she paused. “It sounds like your time in the Marine Corps was — eventful.”
Before Andy could respond, they were interrupted yet again.
“O my God! Feds! Why didn’t you tell me you were in town?”
Andy knew the voice immediately. Praja Reju.
Sara saw the look on Jessica’s face, and she smiled at her friend reassuringly.
The five of them turned to see a tall, strikingly beautiful, Indian woman. Praja was accompanied by her fiancé, Deepak Dara.
Jessica laughed out loud. “Well, this is the morning for Drew’s old girlfriends to have a reunion, I guess.”
Stunned silence met her pronouncement.
“OK, well, let’s get this over with. Anna Chang and Adam Neel — please meet my friend Praja Reju and her fiancé Deepak Dara. Anna and Drew dated his sophomore year in high school, before she moved away and broke his high school Droobie heart. Drew and Praya dated on and off for about,” she looked at Praja questioningly, “five years, or so. It was when Drew was in the Marine Corps. And Praja and Dee, please meet Drew’s fiancé, and my friend,” she grinned as she said this, “Sara Jones-Easley.”
Initially, awkward handshakes were exchanged. Andy just about wet himself when Sara hugged Praja warmly, and whispered something to her. He saw Praja’s eyes go big, and then watched dumbstruck as she laughed.
“Drew, my sister and Feds are right; she’s amazing. Bravo,” said a grinning Praja.
