Stars Collide Ch. 01 by mariasahathewriter, mariasahathewriter

Cam’s practically pulling me up the mountain. All my so called senses feeling totally useless after two beers. Luckily it didn’t rain today so the mud and grass are dry. But, it doesn’t save me from tripping all over the place.

“Slow down. I can’t see!” I get a little impatient and I pull on her hand tightly.

“Hold up a moment. Take your coat and wrap it around you just like I did. I’m morphing into a wolf. I’ll take you there, just climb on my back.”

I didn’t think we were going anywhere in particular. Although it is past midnight and it would be nice to have an escort service taking me on my very own adventure. I’m a little excited at the thought of going somewhere new. I’m not much of a bad girl if you’d noticed.

I obey her order. It’s not like she gave me an option in the matter anyway. I watch her form into rainbows, so colorful shining through the atmosphere. A sight to see from human to wolf. Even a unicorn couldn’t pull this trick off so well. I mount her back and wrap my arms around her neck tightly. Feeling her pelt, so soft and silky. A brown shade in the dark, I can’t see so well and it gets darker the higher we climb.

Cam’s readies herself and sets off smoothly with slow pace to begin with. I think she’s warming me up for the ride of my life. All I can see are trees as we pass by and then she speeds up, running faster. I don’t feel it much, but we weave through the trees and jump over rocks.

Cam swerves brilliantly as if she had mastered every nook and cranny of the forest. She’s been running for a few minutes and she slows down. She knows exactly where she’s going. And then she leaps into the ground, and I see a shining light.
