Maybe one thing had changed. The frequency of his visits had changed. When he was 9 years old, he visited every day; every single day. He had to rely on his parents to bring him but they did. For years, they brought him every day to see his hero. But then it slowly dropped to a few times a week; even less once his mother committed suicide.
He was 16 at that point and had been taking care of himself for years. His parents sure weren’t taking care of him so he had to do it. Since the accident, they barely remembered he was there. He visited when he could but it was hard with school and work. He never missed a week though; not once ever.
His father blamed the hero for his wife’s suicide and never came again to visit. But not him; No, he knew who was to blame for it all.
“Someday,” he promised his hero, “Someday.” He was 22 now.

Anne Booker’s eyes filled with lust when she saw him walk into the place. There was something about him but she couldn’t put her finger on it. She’d been attracted to men at first sight before but this was different. He was the most gorgeous man she’d ever seen. Probably in his mid-20’s; he was tall, around 6’3″ probably. His skin was tanned to a golden brown. His arms and chest were toned and muscular. His sandy blonde hair was wavy and a bit on the long side but it fit him perfectly. It reminded her of how women will spend hours to get their hair looking like they hadn’t done anything to it. She bet his was just naturally that way. He exuded sexuality and confidence in the way he carried himself as we worked his way through the room. She finally noticed his eyes were a light, almost icy, blue color; a color she had only ever seen once before.
She noticed his eyes because he was now standing in front of her and staring straight at her.
“Let’s dance.” he said, more of a command that a request, as he reached out his hand to her.
Wordlessly, Anne grasped his hand as she rose and he led her to the dance floor.
The song was in full swing by the time they reached the floor and began moving. She quickly began moving her body in time to the music and he matched her. His body moved with grace and she felt weightless in his grasp when he spun her.
She thoroughly enjoyed the dance and began to move back to her table when the song ended. He pulled her back into his arms as the next song began; it was a slow one. He pressed into her hard as he wrapped her in his arms and began moving. He towered over her while she glanced up into those eyes again then turned her head sideways and leaned it against his chest. His scent was intoxicating. She could feel the ridges of his six pack abs moving against her hardening nipples and his huge erection was crushed against her stomach. He moved his hand down to her ass and pulled her closer, forcing her pussy against the muscled thigh that had slipped between her legs. She was already a little wet from the thrill of the fast dance so she knew her panties would be soaked through before the song was even half over.
When the song ended, she was trying to catch her breath; still shocked at the orgasm that had just rippled through her body from grinding on his leg.
He unwrapped his arms from around her body and escorted her back to the table. “Grab your things and come with me.” he said to her. Anne’s two friends just stared wide-eyed as she grabbed her phone and purse. She really couldn’t believe it herself as she turned and followed him outside.

He couldn’t believe his luck. He recognized her immediately. He knew everything about her. Fate just intervened in his life again. He hoped it would it turn out good this time. Maybe he could finally put an end to the feelings he’d been carrying for so long.

It was just a harmless prank. Nate Jennings wasn’t supposed to get hurt. Hell, no one was supposed to get hurt.
Every school has a Nate Jennings in one form or another. Nate was the odd kid. The one everyone picked on.
Nate was born with a cleft palate and a clubfoot. His parents didn’t have much but were able to have the lip modestly repaired while he was a baby. They couldn’t afford to have his foot fixed though. Despite all this, Nate was a happy kid. His foot kept him from being able to play like the other kids, but he was able to get around fairly well with just a very pronounced limp thanks to a specially designed shoe. Once in school, he was put into programs to help with his speech impediment but it never did improve much.
Academically, Nate was a near genius. Socially, Nate was on the developmentally challenged side of the spectrum. Nate knew he was different from the other kids but it never bothered him one bit. He wanted people to like him so he was very trusting and therefore easily taken advantage of. Unfortunately, kids tend to be cruel to people who are different.
He wasn’t really wasn’t in need of any special schooling; his parents couldn’t have afforded it anyway so he was always kept in public school. But his developmental challenges kept him from starting until the age of 7.
As Nate grew up and continued through school, kids began to get to know him. And they did like him. The jokes and pranks on him seemed to lessen over the years though never totally went away. There was always a group of kids that would be assholes. There were one or two major incidents each year.
Senior Prom was the culmination of it all. Think along the lines of the movie Carrie, but without the telekinesis parts. The details came out later when the lawsuits started.
Kimberly Harris was the ringleader. She had played her part to a tee. Chumming up to Nate and telling him how she had always admired his strength. Convincing him that he was so popular he could be Prom King. Her boyfriend, Chad Allen, would even allow her to be his date to help cement the deal. She had also had Chad befriending Nate since Christmas to help push him along.
Kimberly, Chad, and Nate were all backstage to await the announcement. Chad offered to straighten out Nate’s tux for him. Unbeknownst to Nate, Chad untied his shoes and loosened his belt just enough.
When Nate and Kimberly were announced as Prom King and Queen, he was the happiest he’d ever been. They strolled out from backstage to accept their crowns. They didn’t make it halfway across before Kimberly stepped on his untied laces. Nate stumbled causing his pants to fall to his ankles. He was mortified as he reached for his pants and struggled to pull them up. Because of his limp and the fact that Kimberly was still standing on his shoelace, Nate lost his balance and fell. His fell onto the stage that had been set up for the band. A guitar stand had been knocked over during an earlier performance. One of the bottom pegs for holding the guitar pierced through Nate’s left eye as he head hit the stage. Blood began to pool around him. Nate never got up.
